Nellie Bly became involved in managing Iron Clad shortly after the two COVER CARDS

were issued by the Brooklyn firm for the

Chicago Columbian Exposition of 1893.  Iron Clad owner Robert Seaman was 73 years old when he married Bly;  she was 31.

 The  cards from one Nellie Bly series contain poem, such as:

Poem:    “When Nellie Bly, the final Tie / That bound the earth had knotted,
                       The World looked on and cried ‘Well done.’ / The Globe was bravely trotted.”

Bly was in full charge of the Iron Clad company by 1901, when her portrait created quite a stir at the Pan-American Exposition.

Her special Iron Clad advertising card was not printed on paper or cardboard… but rather on aluminum!  (Might be available.)
