Currier & Ives Trade Cards
Countless collectibles feature reprints of Currier & Ives lithographs, but antique C & I prints
are relatively hard to find in bright original 1800’s editions which date from circa 140+ years ago.
But C & I “Victorian Trade Cards” are exactly that; they are true antique lithographed “prints”
from the 19th Century. They are typically about the size of a traditional postcard, and many
Currier & Ives Victorian Advertising Trade Cards can be purchased for under $50 each.
Of course, scarcer C & I advertising cards can bring hundreds of dollars or more at auction.

As might be expected, most of the Currier and Ives trade cards offered for sale over the past 50 years
are examples of the most common 50 or so designs. Perhaps 9 out of 10 of the C&I cards sold on
ebay are the same designs which come to market every year. Many of the scarcer and most rare
Currier and Ives trade cards have rarely — or even NEVER — been seen on ebay.
